Safari Overview
This 2-Day Akagera National Park Safari offers a short but rewarding wildlife adventure in Rwanda’s only savannah park. Experience game drives through diverse landscapes inhabited by elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and rhinos. The safari also includes a boat excursion on Lake Ihema where hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife can be observed.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Kigali – Transfer to Akagera & Boat Safari
After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up in Kigali and transfer you to Akagera National Park, a journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Upon entering the park, enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge, watching for wildlife along the way.
In the afternoon, head for a scheduled boat safari on Lake Ihema where you may encounter hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species along the shoreline.

Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge / Ruzizi Tented Lodge
Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Return to Kigali
Rise early for a sunrise game drive through Akagera’s northern circuit in search of lions, elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife. After the game drive, exit the park and begin the journey back to Kigali.
Arrival in Kigali in the afternoon marks the end of the safari.
